VERTICAL FACIAL GROWTH AND HORIZONTAL FACIAL GROWTH

WHAT IS IT?

During growth, the lower jaw of the child may increase horizontally or vertically.

Horizontal growth is a condition for a beautiful profile and an even dental arch.
And vertical growth results in a “long” face with a sloped or protruding chin and abnormal tooth development. Vertical facial growth leads to respiratory and locomotor problems, which will have an impact on the appearance and health of your child in the future.

An orthodontist using techniques of facial growth guidance not only corrects the dental arch of the patient, but also stimulates the facial development in the correct – horizontal – direction.

To find out whether your child’s face is correctly developing, you need to seek advice from a clinic that exercises facial orthotropics.

You should be in time to initiate a course of facial orthotropics before the age of 10, until the primary dentition is replaced by the permanent one, and the bone is still soft, pliable, not so calcified as in adults.

Standard treatment cycle – from 18 months

horizontal growth

(correct face development)

vertical growth

(using the example of the distal bite)

vertical growth

(for example, mesial bite)

DO NOT NEGLECT THE PROBLEM!

If you find that your child has one of the listed signs of abnormal development of the maxillofacial area, be sure to undergo an orthotropic diagnostics of facial development.

FACIAL ORTHOTROPICS UNDER THE AGE OF 10

The orthodontist performs treatment using special devices (bioblocks) in order to control the growth of each part of the child’s face. As a result of treatment, facial harmony is built up; posture, breathing, and elocution are corrected; and teeth grow evenly.
